The Band Played On

marching-bandAs a high school marching band was practicing out on the field, a thunderstom was brewing.  The clouds were dark and ominous, and the kids were getting nervous about the thunder and lightning.  “What are you worried about?” ask their director.  “I’m up here on this grandstand, and lightning strikes the highest object.  I would be the one in danger of being struck.”

To which a student replied “No, you’re not the good of a conductor.”
