The Lorax was Lifted

A 300 pound bronze statue of the Lorax was taken from the home of Aurdrey Geisel, widow of Theodor Geisel a.k.a. Dr. Seuss.  The statue is one of two made by his step daughter.  While it may have been taken because of the renewed popularity of the Lorax – the story is old, only the current movie is new – the thieves may simply plan to recycle it for the value of the bronze.  Read the full story here.

On the one hand, that’s about the saddest news story I can imagine.  What’s wrong with some people?

On the other hand, I can’t help thinking that investigators should talk to the Old Onceler about why the Lorax was lifted and taken somewhere.
