Today is Sunday, May 11 2014 – and Mother’s Day.

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.Ephesians 4:32 ESV via Bible Gateway

Mom’s Finish Line by Dennis Fisher is the Mother’s Day themed devotion today at Our Daily Bread.

Kids say the darndest things – So I’m at Walmart on Friday with Johannah (the 4-year-old) and she saw lots of flowers and other Mother’s Day gift and wanted to get something for Mommy. I told her that we were taking her out for dinner Sunday night and that we might let her pick out a card before we left. So I made a big deal out of choosing a card and sneaking it inside the house and hiding it until Mother’s Day. We discussed keeping a secret, which I know from past experience she is no good at whatsoever. So we got home and put things away and Johannah never said one word. Then yesterday we are eating lunch and out of nowhere, with Teresa sitting right there basically between us, Johannah shouts “Can we tell Mom about the secret now?” “Um… no. Mother’s Day is tomorrow.” So her mom starts shaking her head and saying she didn’t hear anything and Johannah leans just a little bit towards me and says “We can tell her at dinner tomorrow then, right?”

“Yes, yes we can.”
