30 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 30!

medicineI am thankful for modern medicine.

My wife called in her refills yesterday, all I had to do today was pick them up at the drive through window. The tech asked if I’d had my flu shot and reminded me that most insurance plans cover them. The doctor can call in prescriptions that are ready by the time you drive to the store, and daily medications can refill automatically and text you a reminder to pick them up. Our health care system is not perfect and there is a worldwide imbalance in availability of adequate health care, but we’ve come a long way from seeing the barber for blood letting. I do believe Hippocrates would be proud.
